About the Journal

Kairaranga - weaving educational threads, weaving educational practice – is an interprofessional journal about equity in education. Kairaranga acknowledges, affirms, and upholds the tenets of Aotearoa New Zealand's founding bicultural document Te Tiriti o Waitangi. To that end, Kairaranga provides contributors with opportunities to celebrate the first language of our country, te reo Māori. We welcome contributions that are written in te reo Māori.  Ko te reo te mauri o te mana Māori.

Contributions may focus on:

  • Practice – celebrating, challenging and transforming practice
  • Research – sharing literature reviews, research projects and inquiries into practice
  • Positioning – critiquing an educational issue, including reviews and think pieces
  • Experiences – foregrounding perspectives of mokopuna, whānau, teachers and other educators

Kairaranga is hosted by the Institute of Education, Massey University.
