Publication pathways

Publication pathways

The Kairaranga editorial team provides different pathways of support to potential contributors:

Option 1 is the Independent Submission Pathway. This option is great for people who have previous publishing experience. Authors pursuing this option read the material under the “Guide and Template” tab of the Kairaranga website, including the “Author Guidelines for submitting to Kairaranga”, and independently submit their manuscript. Once they have submitted their manuscript, an editor reviews it and then sends it for peer review by two researchers with relevant expertise. The editor then reads the peer reviews and decides whether the manuscript should be accepted, accepted pending some changes, or declined, and communicates this decision to the author or authors.

Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step submission, review, and publication process.

Many school-based researchers and educators choose Option 2 or 3. Authors selecting these pathways receive support with their submission.

Option 2 is the Supported Publication Pathway. Authors selecting this pathway often have the information required to develop a Practice, Research, Positioning, or Experience contribution. However, they may want some support in developing it into an article. If you are interested in this pathway, email the editorial team, and we can discuss how we can support you. Email the editorial team.

Option 3 is the Co-author Publication Pathway. This option is great for people who would like more extensive support and want to partner with someone with expertise in their area of interest. People selecting this option can get in touch any time in the process may want help developing an inquiry that could lead to publication in Kairaranga or want help analysing and interpreting data in addition to support developing their submission. Email the kairaranga editorial team if you are interested in this option. Email the editorial team.
